Everything We Know About Reverse: 1999
Reverse: 1999 Story Plot
The game’s story starts on December 31, 1999. A mysterious storm known as "The Storm" created chaos across the timeline and caused "The Storm Syndrome".
The Storm Syndrome caused bizarre changes in people and the world around them. As the character of each era in the 20th century changed, so did the corresponding syndrome in people. These changes were like an illusion or the mirage of their time.
Players will take on the role of a young girl called the "Timekeeper", one of the few immune to the effects of the Storm and who has witnessed the beginnings and ends of countless eras. During her time travel, she makes friends with arcanists from different eras and countries and then guides them to escape the Storm.
Reverse: 1999 Gameplay
Reverse: 1999 incorporates turn-based combat gameplay in its combat, along with other different mechanics such as a skill system and card-drawing mechanism. While in combat, players are drawn random cards. These generated cards include the action commands players can make. There are also different element classes to keep track of. Each element offers stat boosts or skill enhancements.
Much planning must be done to tackle the game's more demanding challenges. For example, skill cards can be paired and combined to enhance their effects and sometimes even gain new abilities. This is important for difficult sections of the game where your skills' additional effects can mitigate dire circumstances that you may find yourself in. On top of that, enemies enter a state of preparation for very punishing attacks every so often. If you lack the tools to immediately dispose of them or disrupt their preparations because you used them wantonly at a prior turn, it could spell the premature end of a hard-fought run.
Reverse: 1999 Pre-Orders
The game currently cannot be pre-ordered, however, players can sign-up for pre-registration on the App Store and Google Play Store. PC players can pre-register on the game's official website.
