Twitter (X) User Recreates the Willy Wonka Experience in Sims 4
A world of pure imagination, indeed! Twitter (X) user @imcxllumbtw managed to recreate the utter dullness and low-effort skeeziness of the now-infamous Willy Wonka Experience from Glasgow, Scotland.
@imcxllumbtw recreated one of the more popular images from the event, depicting a tired-looking actress dressed as an Oompa Loompa doing chemistry experiments on a poorly set table. According to @imcxllumbtw, the effort of capturing the event’s drab atmosphere took all but 30 minutes of playing Sims 4 on a lazy Wednesday afternoon.
The post was an instant hit on the platform as people were keen to mock and make fun of the falsely advertised event. Some users even pointed out that the Sims 4 version of the Willy Wonka Experience looked better than its real-life counterpart.
More Information About the Willy Wonka Experience
Evoking the same energy as Fyre Festival and DashCon, the Willy Wonka Experience was a fun event turned laughing stock when visitors realized just how low-effort the entire setup was. Consisting mostly of empty space with a few actors, the event was widely panned by the internet when images from the event — including the one @imcxllumbtw remade in Sims 4 — began to circulate the internet.
The event’s organizer — a one-man crew called House of Illuminati — allegedly used AI-generated photos and text for the event’s ad campaign. This, along with the general lack of quality and things to do during the event, led to some parents calling the police to intervene. This led to the event’s premature cancellation, although the actors were treated amicably by both the police and the event goers.
