Artists Have “Thousands Of Rough Sketches”
Since its return to the spotlight due to the Sakurajima update, Palworld has also been highlighted for not-so-great reasons. Ever since its launch, the creature-catching survival game has been a topic of discussion regarding AI, with others claiming that Palworld’s assets have been generated with the use of the rather controversial tool.
In a Twitter (X) post dated July 9 on his personal account, Mizobe addressed the rumors by sharing a publication scan from CGWORLD, where Palworld is featured as the front cover along with a special feature article. CGWORLD is a Japanese magazine that reports on multimedia creation and computer graphics, and Palworld’s article detailed the development process of the game, highlighting aspects such as Pal creation, the gun motions, and the overall look and feel of the environments.
"Palworld is often criticized for using generative AI, but in reality it does not," stated Mizobe. "The artists have drawn nearly thousands of rough sketches. We've also introduced some of the Pal production processes, so if you're interested, please check them out!" he concluded, in a bid to end the hearsays of Pocketpair using GenAI in their work.
