Sabotage Studio CEO and Director Thierry Boulanger revealed that Sea of Stars is getting a DLC update in the future. Speaking at a Radio Canada segment, Boulanger stated that the studio has allocated a small percentage of its workforce to develop a DLC for the new game while the rest will be working on an upcoming title.
Although not much has been said about the contents of the upcoming DLC, the studio mentioned that it will be a fully fledged side-adventure DLC
and promises to expand even more on the world of Sea of Stars and provide additional insight on the narrative overarching all of our games.
The DLC content will be called “Throes of the Watchmaker.”
World-Building DLC
Given this information, it seems a lot like the upcoming DLC will shed more light on the lore of both Sea of Stars and The Messenger, another praiseworthy game by the same studio. Since Sea of Stars is the prequel to The Messenger, Throes of the Watchmaker may be the glue that connects both games together. The turn-based JRPG about the two Children of the Solstice who combine the powers of the sun and moon to perform Eclipse Magic is only a week old and has sold 100,000 copies on its day of release. It has garnered overwhelmingly positive feedback and appears to be a dark horse for one of the best games of this year.
