Sucker Punch Animator Jean Nguyen Wows Gamers with Dinosaur Gameplay
Dino Sword Game Project Updated
Jean Nguyen, a Sucker Punch animator, recently gave fans a sneak peek at his personal gaming project, Dino-Sword. After a year of hard work, Nguyen revealed an exciting update depicting a thrilling fight scene with Spinosaurus using enormous stone swords.
Nguyen started working with Dino-Sword a year ago, when he first uploaded a collection of Dino-Sword animations to his YouTube channel. At the time, he made it clear that he had no plans to turn these animations into a full-fledged game, emphasizing that they were a labor of love made only for his own delight.
Despite what he said, in Nguyen's most recent update, the Spinosaurus is seen fighting ferociously with a larger Spinosaurus using large stone swords in a forest setting. The demo showed some fluid gameplay that melded with the game’s environmental aspects. His Patreon page also seems to have several video game project demonstrations, but access is restricted to subscribers only.
Twitter Community Supportive of the Game Project
The gaming community's reaction has been overwhelmingly positive. Devolver Digital, a well-known indie game publisher, expressed their excitement with the words "ok ok ok cool cool cool." Furthermore, a Twitter user, silvoom, said, "It's a race between Devolver and New Blood to see who can pick this guy up first," demonstrating the industry's interest.
Eager admirers have even suggested launching a Kickstarter campaign to accelerate the development of Dino-Sword. This degree of passion and participation from fans demonstrates the project's potential to reach a larger audience.
Despite the hype around Dino-Sword, Jean Nguyen has yet to make official statements regarding whether he wants to transform the concept into a commercially available game. For the time being, it remains as a personal endeavor fueled by passion and imagination for the animator.
