Armored Core 6 AC Customization

Image

In Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon, the process of customizing your Armored Core or "AC" is a central mechanic. As you progress through the game, it becomes crucial to optimize your mech to overcome any challenge thrown at you. What may have worked in one battle may not necessarily work in another, so it’s important to master the basics of building an AC.

When constructing your AC, there are a few key decisions to make. Firstly, consider the weight of your AC. Weight affects both your speed on the battlefield and how much energy, or EN, is consumed when using boosters or flying. If conserving EN is a priority (let’s say you’re using energy weapons that consume EN), then opting for a lighter AC would be suitable. On the other hand, if EN isn’t an issue (for example, you have a generator that provides ample EN but replenishes slowly), then a medium or heavy AC would better suit your needs.

Image

Once you’ve determined the weight of your AC, it’s time to consider which generator to install in it. Generators can be categorized into two types: those with low EN storage but high EN replenishment (useful for constant evasion using boosters) and those with high EN storage but slow EN replenishment (better suited for heavy weapon usage when dodging isn’t a priority).

Additionally, the Fire Control System, or FCS, is an important factor to consider as it influences how quickly your AC locks onto targets. FCSs are divided into three categories: ones that excel at close to medium-range lock-on targeting but struggle with long-range targeting, ones that perform well at long range but are ineffective in close quarters, and ones that provide average performance across both ranges.

Next off are the weapons and individual parts of your AC like the Core (or chest), Arms, Legs, and Head. These parts all play a crucial role in determining the overall weight of your AC. Pay special attention to the Legs as they directly impact how much your mech can carry into battle. In the section below, we compiled a short list of potential weapons, body parts, and internal components for you to mix and customize to create the most powerful ACs that will dominate the battlefield.

Get up close and personal with your enemies or start peppering them from afar with your trusty rifle. Then, boost above them and unleash havoc with your Songbirds. Once the enemy’s impact meter is filled, seize that opportunity to assault boost and dish out some serious damage with your close-range weapon. Remember to keep your build light to medium so you can dodge effectively without being a glass cannon who dies after one mistake. Stay within the close to medium range of your enemy to maximize the potential of your FCS.

Keep your fingers on the trigger of those Gatling guns and unleash your stun needles as soon as you lock onto an enemy. Dodging is recommended when possible, but forget about fancy maneuvers like flying. Just keep firing relentlessly and hope that the enemy dies before you run out of Repair Kits.

This build has been gaining popularity online due to its effective use of shotguns to drive up the enemy's Impact meter. Get up close and personal with your opponent and unleash both shotguns at the opportune moment. If both shots connect, your enemy's Impact meter will fill up to nearly full. Follow up with a Stun Needle attack to stagger them, then deliver a devastating blow with a point-blank cannon blast. Repeat this process and you’ll find that arena matches don’t tend to last longer than one minute against this build.

  • Left Arm Weapon: DF-GA-08 HU-BEN

  • FCS: FC-006 ABBOT
  • Generator: DF-GN-06 MING-TANG or DF-GN-08 SAN-TAI
  • Expansion: Terminal Armor

This build focuses on maximizing your DPS while maintaining maneuverability. To achieve this, you'll need to obtain the Weapon Bay OS upgrade, accessible through the OS Tuning menu. Remember that you'll first need to complete several Arena matches to have enough OS chips to purchase the upgrade. Once you have Weapon Bays, utilize one of your shoulder slots to store your preferred melee weapon.

Image

The strategy is as follows: close in on your enemy and unleash a relentless volley from your Gatling guns. Maintain a continuous barrage without hesitation. If you manage to stagger your opponent, follow up by using your Songbirds or swapping out one of your Gatling guns for your melee weapon and executing a devastating attack.

Keep in mind that there is a brief delay when switching weapons between shoulders and arms. You'll need to master the timing within that narrow window of opportunity. Every second counts.

Armored Core 6 Best Build 5: The Plasma Sniper (Light/Medium)

Image

Parts Needed:

  • Right Arm Weapon: Vvc-760PR
  • Left Arm Weapon: Vvc-760PR
  • Right Shoulder Weapon: FASAN/60E
  • Left Shoulder Weapon: FASAN/60E
  • Head: HD-033M VERRIL
  • Core: BD-011 MELANDER
  • Arms: AR-011 MELANDER
  • Legs: RC-2000 SPRING CHICKEN
  • Boosters: IA-C01B: GILLS or ALULA/21E
  • FCS: FCS-G2/P05
  • Generator: VP-20D
  • Expansion: Terminal Armor

All of our previous builds have been more or less on the short-to-medium range side. But if you're looking to keep your distance from your enemies while still being able to land some hits, we've got just the long-range build for you. Just lock onto your target and fire off those plasma cannons one by one. Depending on your enemy's speed, you can expect at least two out of every four shots to connect.

Image

Feeling confident in your aim? Well then, charge up those shoulder-mounted plasma guns for a devastating attack before following up with normal shots from your handheld guns. Remember to maintain that long-range distance, dodge when necessary, and you should come out of the encounter with most of your health intact.
