Sons of the Forest Story Plot
You’re tasked with finding a missing billionaire on a remote island. Once you’re there, you quickly find out that this place is infested with cannibal mutants. To survive, you must craft, hunt, and cook, all while you remain vigilant and fend off the cannibals to avoid being eaten yourself.
Sons of the Forest Gameplay
Sons of the Forest can be played either solo or with a team of up to 8 people. It’s an open-world survival horror game where you decide what to do next to survive. There aren’t any NPCs that will boss you around on what to do. In fact, it’s the opposite. There are NPC companions that you could instruct to do your bidding.
To survive, you’ll have to craft, hunt, cook, and fight for survival. Ensure that the needs of your companions and yourself are met. There’s a variety of different mutants, with some closely resembling humans and others looking like nothing you’ve ever seen before. There are a number of different weapons you could use to defend yourself and the people you’re with. Take out mutants from a distance with a pistol, hack at them with an axe, or use a stun baton to incapacitate and inflict pain.

The trailer starts off light and cute, with footage showing a player exploring the forest filled with adorable raccoons. It quickly gets dark and the survival and horror elements are showcased, with the player encountering numerous mutants, reminiscent of games like Silent Hill or movies from David Cronenberg.
