In an announcement today, Nintendo President Shuntaro Furukawa revealed that while the company plans to make an announcement about the successor to the Nintendo Switch within the fiscal year, it won't be happening during the upcoming Nintendo Direct in June 2024.

"It will have been over nine years since we announced the existence of Nintendo Switch back in March 2015," Furukawa said on Twitter (X). However, he clarified that the Nintendo Direct June 2024 will focus solely on the software lineup for the latter half of 2024, with no mention of the Nintendo Switch successor during the presentation.
