In order to obtain the most points possible, you should aim for a high position and use items to knock your opponents out of the lead.
Always start with a Rocket Start. You can get the highest bonus score possible if done correctly. It will also help you take an early lead in the race.
RMX Rainbow Road 1R has a wide racing track. Take that opportunity to perform Mini or Super Mini-Turbo Boost to speed up and maximize your score.
The waving road caused by the Star Thwomps will let you perform a jump boost. So make sure to go either on the left or right side of the road when the Star Thwomps hit the rainbow tiles. Also, be careful not to bump into them or you will instantly crash, and might get into a bad position in a race.
You can use the 1st gliding area near the starting line. It is a good way to earn some points early in the race, so keep the combo going after gliding!
You can find the 2nd and 3rd gliding area in the middle of the course. These two gliding areas are relatively close to each other, take advantage of it and make a long combo!
There is a shortcut right next to the finish line. It will help you steal or secure the lead at the last possible moment in a race! Just be careful not to fall off the map.
