Raising Your Score at Royal Raceway R

Position Points and Gimmicks are the Most Important

In order to obtain the most points possible, you should aim for a high position and use items to knock your opponents out of the lead.

Tips for Raising Your Score

Rocket Start

Starting with a Rocket Start will give you the advantage to take an early lead in the race. You can also get the highest bonus score possible if done correctly.

Drifting

The race track of this course has a lot of curves. Utilize each curve by performing Mini-turbo Boosts. By using Mini-turbo Boosts, you will be able to get ahead against your opponents, and performing one will give you extra points.

Shortcut

This shortcut has the same location as the Royal Raceway and Royal Raceway T courses. Access the shortcut using a Mushroom to easily get to the ramp with a dash panel.

Use Items

Make sure to hit your opponents when throwing your items forward or backward. Hitting an opponent will grant you points and slow them down at the same time. This will give you the advantage to get ahead of them and take the lead. Do not forget to save at least one item to defend yourself from getting hit.
