Raising Your Score at Donut Plains 1R

Position Points and Gimmicks are the Most Important

In order to obtain the most points possible, you should aim for a high position and use items to knock your opponents out of the lead.

Tips for Raising Your Score

Rocket Start

Starting with a Rocket Start will give you the advantage to take an early lead in the race. You can also get the highest bonus score possible if done correctly.

Drifting

You can perform an Ultra Mini-Turbo boost after doing the rocket start in the early game. Ultra Mini-Turbo boost will not just help you speed up but you will also gain points from it. Ultra Mini-Turbo boost gives more points than Mini and Super Mini-Turbos.

Shortcut

This is the reverse course of the Donut Plains 1 so you will also see this shortcut. Access this shortcut only if you have a Mushroom to help you boost. Going outside the track will slow you down.

Using of Items

Do not forget that you can throw your items forward or backward to your opponents. Hitting an opponent will also give you certain points and can also give you the chance to get ahead of them. Just remember to save at least one item at your back (like bananas or green shells) to block your opponents' attack from behind.
