How to Obtain All Grand Stars

Raising Your Score at Vanilla Lake 1R/T

Position Points and Gimmicks are the Most Important

In order to obtain the most points possible, you should aim for a high position and use items to knock your opponents out of the lead.

Tips for Raising Your Score

Rocket Start

Starting with a Rocket Start will give you the advantage to take an early lead in the race. You can also get the highest bonus score possible if done correctly.

Drifting

Do a Mini-Turbo boost before driving over the first road hump. Mini-Turbos will give you a short boost and a chance to get ahead of your opponents. It can also extend your combo and gain points from performing one.

Road Humps and Platforms

There are road humps and platforms all over the course. Make sure to go over to these road humps to maximize the combo you can make. We suggest using a HE Kart with Jump Boost Plus skill to further increase your score.

Shortcut

You can the shortcut on the left side of the road during the 2nd lap if you have a Mushroom item. But, taking the platform in the middle will be better as it will give you more combo points.

Gliding Area

Use the gliding area. Gliding will give you more combo points than going over the road hump beside it.

Coins

Collect the coins in the air! Coins will be added to your combo streak. You can also use these coins to buy drivers, karts, gliders, and other things in the Shop.

Extend Glide Time

You can extend your glide time by landing over the dash panel at the end of the platform. More glide time means more combos and points.

Obstacles

Snow Blocks	Pipes

There are two kinds of obstacles in this course: Snow Blocks and Pipes. You can easily avoid the snow blocks because they are placed on the side of the road. And you will only encounter the pipes when you did not go over the last platform. These obstacles should be avoided as you will slow down once bumped into them.
