Raising Your Score at Luigi's Mansion R

Position Points and Gimmicks are the Most Important

In order to obtain the most points possible, you should aim for a high position and use items to knock your opponents out of the lead.

Tips for Raising Your Score

Rocket Start

Always start with a Rocket Start. You can get the highest bonus score possible if you release your finger at the right timing. It will also help you take an early lead in the race.

Drifting

Perform drifting right after doing a rocket start. You can perform an Ultra Mini-Turbo Boost up to 2 times in the muddy area before reaching the 1st set of item boxes and gorup of coins.

Obstacles

Be careful not to bump into the walking trees for they will slow you down.

Shortcut 1

You will see this shortcut when you turn left after getting the 2nd set of item boxes. Use this shortcut only if you have a Mushroom to help you speed up.

Shortcut 2

Use this shortcut only if you have an item to break the wooden cutout. Bumping the wooden cutout without any item will greatly slow you down.

Combo Area

You can perform a long combo inside the mansion. The hallway slants upward which will let you perform jump boosts. Collect coins and do jump boosts while drifting to get more combo points.

Gliding Area

There is a gliding area at the end of the mansion. Make sure you have done enough combos before accessing this gliding area to maximize you score. Do not forget to get the coins in the air! You can use these coins to buy drivers, karts, and gliders in the Shop.
