In order to obtain the most points possible, you should aim for a high position and use items to knock your opponents out of the lead.
Always start with a Rocket Start. You can get the highest bonus score possible if done correctly. It will also help you take an early lead in the race.
Do a Mini-Turbo Boost as long as there is a curved area. This will help you speed up to catch up with your opponents and can also extend your combo.
Road humps are all over the course. Make sure to go through these road humps to perform jump boosts and create a long combo. Collect the coins and use these to buy drivers, karts, and gliders in the Shop.
Make sure to use the gliding area to avoid the chocolate lake. This is the faster way of getting into the finish line and would give you a combo streak at the same time.
You can take down these piranha plants by throwing any item (except coins and banana). Points will be added to your score once you hit them.
Access this shortcut only if you have a mushroom to give you a short boost. Going outside the track will slow you down.
