Raising Your Score at Mario Circuit

Position Points and Gimmicks are the Most Important

In order to obtain the most points possible, you should aim for a high position and use items to knock your opponents out of the lead.

Tips for Raising Your Score

Rocket Start

Always start with a Rocket Start. You will get the highest bonus score when you perform the Rocket Start correctly. Rocket Start will also give you an early lead in the race.

Ultra Mini-Turbo Boosts

Mario Circuit have wide track and long curves. You should do Ultra Mini-Turbo boosts to maximize the score you can get. You can at least perform 3 Ultra Mini-Turbo boost in this course.

Shortcut 1

You can access the first shortcut in this course right after the first curve. Go to the right, and be sure to have mushroom to easily access the shortcut.

Shortcut 2

You can access the second shortcut in this course after the Giant Mushroom. If you are on the left side of the track, go to the left ramp, and if you are on the right side of the track, make sure to get through the right ramp. Take note that you should only access one of the shortcuts, or you will slow down.

Combo Area

The combo area starts inside the castle. Get all the coins while drifting to get a higher combo. If you have a mushroom, you can use it to get to the gliding area and extend it up to the finish line. You will get a higher score if you perform a longer combo.

Gliding Area

You will get to the gliding area inside the castle. Be sure to get high combo count before gliding to multiply the score even higher.

Extend Glide Time 1

Extend the gliding area by going through the air currents. Going through the air current will let you perform a jump boost, which will give you points and add to your combo. Extending glide time will get you more score.

Extend Glide Time 2

If you missed riding the air currents, you can extend glide time by going through the ramp. You can also try to access, both the ramp and air current If you already mastered the controls in gliding, by going down fast.

Pipes and Goombas

You should be careful gliding down, or you will hit a pipe or a goomba. They will slow you down, and you will be placed at a lower position in the race. You can add more to your score if you have an item that can take them out.
