Raising Your Score at SNES Rainbow Road R

Position Points and Gimmicks are the Most Important

In order to obtain the most points possible, you should aim for a high position and use items to knock your opponents out of the lead.

Tips for Raising Your Score

Rocket Start

Rocket Start (SNES Rainbow Road R).jpg
Always start with a Rocket Start. You can get the highest bonus score possible if done correctly. It will also help you take an early lead in the race.

Waving Road

Waving Road (SNES Rainbow Road R).jpg
The waving road caused by the Star Thwomps will let you perform a jump boost. Make sure to take this opportunity to maximize your combo and score.

Super Mini-Turbo Boost (SNES Rainbow Road R).jpg
Perform Mini or Mini-Turbo Boost to give you the needed boost and at the same time add points to your combo. SNES Rainbow Road R has a wide raising track so it is also possible to perform an Ultra Mini-Turbo Boost.

Ramp (SNES Rainbow Road R).jpg
This is the reverse course of the SNES Rainbow Road and there are few ramps available. Access them to perform jump boosts to gain more points. Just be careful when accessing this ramp located in the center before the 2 Star Twomps. There is a big gap in the road for which you might fall.

Gliding Area

Gliding Area (SNES Rainbow Road R).jpg
Accessing the gliding area will trigger a combo. Collect the coins while gliding and use them to buy drivers, karts, and gliders in the Shop.

Star Thwomps (SNES Rainbow Road R).jpg
Star Thwomps are the only obstacle in this course. Avoid bumping and getting crashed by them or you will slow down and might be in a bad position.

Personally, I think if I try reeeaaaalllllly hard I can get it, it would be a great celebration for a player that hasn’t spent any money at all in the game. Only 40,000-41,000 points left
(Yes it’s me, Lakitu. Once this tour has ended I will change my name to normal again).
