This article is about the horses in Ghost of Tsushima, for the PS4. Read on to find out what are horses for and which horse should you pick for the first and second time.

Your horse will help you travel across the island of Tsushima, as it is the fastest form of transportation. You can ride random horses you find across the land, but the horse you choose at the beginning will always appear when you call for it.
Your horse can also appear at the end of tales, showing the bond between Jin and the horse you choose.
You can almost always call for your horse and it will appear when exploring Tsushima. You only have to whistle by sliding the touchpad left and your horse will appear.
Your horse can not die from taking damage but will run away if hurt. So don't worry if you left it in an area full of combat.
At the start of the game there are 3 horses to choose from. Each one having a distinct color. The horses are:
After choosing one you can pick from 3 names to call your horse. The names are Japanese words that have an English meaning.
There is a fourth horse you can choose from if you own the Digital Deluxe version of the game. Next to the other 3 is the Brown horse.
There is no difference between the horses except the color. They all have the same in all aspects and are only aesthetically different.
At the beginning of Act 3, you are going to have to choose a new horse. You are going to choose between 3 new horses. The 3 horses are going to be the 2 colors you did not choose and Thin Brown, a new color.
You will have to name your new horse, your choices are going to be 2 of the names you did not pick and Kaze, a new name you can choose.
