Before you can increase the number of your Charm Slots, you first need to find Inari Shrines that are scattered around the map in the game. An easy way to find these Inari Shrines is to look out for foxes. When you see a fox, simply following them will take you to an Inari Shrine.
Once you have located an Inari Shrine, approach it and Honor the Shrine. Honoring a certain number of Inari Shrines will increase your Charm Slots gradually, so in order to increase your Charm Slots by a large amount, you will need to honor many Inari Shrines.
