Sucker Punch showed off many cool and neat things in the up coming Ghost of Tsushima video game for the PS4, but one of the really cool parts that was shown was the Cinema Mode. In this mode the game will have filters to make the game mimic an old retro samurai move.
The game will be in black and white with visual noise and film grain. When paired with the Japanese voice overs that will be available with English subtitles, you can get yourself an authentic old school samurai movie experience. The only down side it seems is that the mouth movements will not match the Japanese voices, but that is still only a minor nitpick.
The Samurai Cinema experince is not for everyone though, as this feature may not be appealing to younger gamers who have never seen any old school samurai movies. However, it is likely that the Cinema Mode will be customizable to the players liking. If you are looking for just a more realistic and immersive experince, then maybe Japanese voices with no filters is the best option, or if you would just like to just enjoy the story, than maybe English with no filters would be better. If you are a fan of old samurai movies and would like to imagine playing the movie yourself then maybe this mode is right for you.
