There are a lot of Items, including Weapons and Armor, that you will come across in the many different planets of Halcyon. If you're a kind of 'pack rat' player, you should have invested in your Carrying Capacity! But hod do you do this?
Your Carrying Capacity indicates how much junk -er- items you can carry. A low Carrying Capacity can cause problems, especially if you've got Mantisaurs chasing after you!
It's not that hard to increase your Carrying Capacity. There are three ways you can do this: you can use Mods on your Armor, have Companions with you all the time, or sell Items you don't need - aka Junk!
In your travels, you will come across Mods. These Modifications can be used to give you better shooting, added Strength, or better Skills. There is a modification which gives you added Carrying Capacity too, so use it if you find yourself often packing more items than you can carry.
Another way to increase your Carrying Capacity is to have Companions with you. When adventuring alone, you find that your Carrying Capacity is diminished, but Companions always tend to come with added extra Carrying Capacity.
The Perks system in The Outer Worlds helps you carry a lot more items even though you should already be encumbered. This helps your carrying in a lot of ways - it can help you through tight situations and you can also carry more items, then sort through them later on.
The simplest way to get rid of your over-encumbered state - sell those Junk! The money you receive from them can be used to purchase Mods, some of which can also help you increase your Carrying Capacity. So go ahead and sell away!
