You can Block all normal attacks by creating a Ninja-Gum Bubble. Press and hold the ZL button (default) to blow a Ninja-Gum Bubble. Bigger Ninja-Gum Bubble means more attacks can be Blocked.
when you use your Block at the same time the enemy lands their attack on you, a parry will occur. To learn more abour parrys, see our guide about it!
Parry Guide | How to Parry
Blocking an attack can be a start of your combo. Whenever you Block an attack, use your Gum Shoot and start attacking your opponent.
Note: The combo will still rely on the weapon you are using. After attacking with your Gum Shoot, use the suitable combo for your weapon.
If you want to avoid a fight with players because of your low health, you can Block their attack using your Ninja-Gum Bubble. Immediately activate a Gum Boost after successfully Blocking their attack to escape.

Blocking too frequently will make you susceptible to Break Attacks. If you get hit by a Break Attack, you will get encased in gum. This will likely result in a free IPPON for the enemy team. For more info about Break Attacks, see the guide below.
