Ippon is a kill mechanic that offers bonus points to players that scored the most Ippons in the game. The only other one that offers bonus points after an Ippon is Drone Destroyer so scoring Ippons is one way to secure a win!
Ippon is often used to refer to a perfectly executed technique in martial arts. Ippon is much more used as a term in Judo as a perfect throw using the martial artists' back together with proper impetus and control. Scoring an Ippon in Judo is enough for a win to be called for the player that performed it.
There are several ways to score an Ippon in Ninjala. Playing around scoring Ippons is a surefire way to perform an upset in the rankings.
This is the most basic way to score an Ippon. You must bind them using Gums (either by using Gum Shoot or Using Gum Break attack) then defeating the enemy.
When a parry is performed, both players get locked in battle while choosing a directional input using the left stick to decide an attack against the enemy. Players who defeat the enemy using this technique is guaranteed an Ippon. Just be careful to not let yourself lose and let the enemy score the Ippon for themselves!
Defeating enemies using Ninjutsu will score you an Ippon. Scoring several Ippons by using a Ninjutsu against grouped is a great way to score several Ippons at once!
