How to Use Sword Dance

Imbue on Long Armaments

If you have it as an Ash of War, it is better to imbue it to any katanas, greatswords, or polearms to maximize this skill's effect. Doing this will greatly improve the skill's reach as it does two swift upward circular slashes followed by a downward slash, if you made a second input of the skill button.

The best weapon to imbue this skill would be the Nagakiba katana for it provides a long reach with every swing.

Great AoE

Sword Dance has a huge AoE and a dash accompanying it. It's great to use for catching enemies that are dodge rolling and particularly effective in PvP or against NPC invaders.

Take Two Enemies at Once

Depending on your armament this skill can take on two to three enemies at once provided that you imbue it to a long polearm or a katana.

Take Advantage of Whetblades

Since this skill can do multiple hits on full combo, adding posion buildup or cold buildup on its a passive effects could prove beneficial. You can do this with the help of whetblades when granting your weapon with this Ash of War.

All Whetblades Locations

Available as an Ash of War

This skill is available as an Ash of War and can be acquired after defeating a scarab just up north of the Minor Erdtree near the Converted Tower in the Liurnia of the Lakes region. Once you have it you can imbue this to any straight swords, katanas, greatswords, axes, and polearms capable of slashing.

Grants the Keen affinity

The Keen affinity will improve weapon scaling with the Dexterity attribute and will lower the rest of the other attribute's scaling.
