Deck Concept

The Star Seraph deck uses Star Seraph Scepter and Sovereignty as material to Xyz summon a level 4 monster. The deck previously had the Master of Destiny Skill to help with the draw, but it's been severely limited by the banlist.

How to Play Star Seraph

Main Combo

Star Seraph Scepter.png

1. Once you have Star Seraph Scepter and Star Seraph Sovereignty in your hand: Normal Summon Star Seraph Scepter to add another Star Seraph Sovereignty to your hand.
2. After Normal Summoning Star Seraph Scepter, activate the effect of Star Seraph Sovereignty to Special Summon it and draw another card.
3. Activate the other Star Seraph Sovereignty in your hand to Special Summon it and draw yet another card.
4. By this point, you should have Summoned 1 Star Seraph Scepter and 2 Star Seraph Sovereignty. Use these 3 cards to Xyz Summon an Xyz Monster that requires 3 level 4 monsters as Xyz material.
5. Using Star Seraph Scepter as Xyz material activates an effect that allows you to destroy any card on the field (including your own), then to draw 1 card.
6. Powerful offensive cards to Xyz summon in step 5 are Evil Swarm Ouroboros, Vylon Disigma, and Stellarknight Delteros.

Counters for Star Seraph

Weaknesses

  • High chance that you will brick at the start of the Duel.
  • Most of the Main Deck is geared towards Special Summons.
  • Banlist severely limited its use with the Master of Destiny skill.

Disrupt the Star Seraph Cards

The player's Star Seraph cards will primarily be used to set up their main offensive combo. If you destroy those cards as they're Summoned, you delay one of their few means of attacking you. The player will brick if they don't have the Star Seraph cards, so seize that opportunity to deal devastating damage.

Beware the Backrow

The player's backrow will be your primary challenge, as it could be comprised of numerous possibilities of strong Spell/Trap cards. The backrow is the player's only line of defense before the Xyz Monsters are summoned, so destroying those as they're set or Summoned could prove advantageous in the long run.
