The strategy of Cyber Dragon Decks is to bring out as many Fusion Monsters from the Extra Deck as it can by constantly searching for Cyber Dragons and using them as materials. In a single turn, this Deck can fill your entire side of the field with powerful Fusion Monsters and possibly take out your opponent.

Cyber Dragon Decks rely on their many Fusion Monsters for high damage output. By preventing them from accessing their Extra Deck, they are unable to inflict any significant damage to you.
By negating their Spell and Trap Cards, not only are you preventing them from Fusion Summoning their powerful monsters, you are also protecting yourself from the card destroying effects of the Spells and Traps that usually accompany Cyber Dragon Decks.
