  • Easy to play and great for beginners. The deck is also a great introduction for Fusion-focused decks.
  • Decent chance to OTK your opponent. Considering the boss monsters have very high ATK, there is a chance to win the game off of just one attack.
  • Only requires a few Boxes. Cyber Dragon support cards are thankfully focused on a handful of Boxes, thus making the search for them easier than usual.

Deck Concept

The strategy of Cyber Dragon Decks is to bring out as many Fusion Monsters from the Extra Deck as it can by constantly searching for Cyber Dragons and using them as materials. In a single turn, this Deck can fill your entire side of the field with powerful Fusion Monsters and possibly take out your opponent.

Card Alternatives

Reason for Card Alternatives
  • For more offensive Cyber Dragon alternatives, Cyber Dragon Zwei and Cyber Dragon Drei can take on the name and be used as Fusion Material for any of the Cyber Dragon-focused Fusion Monsters.
  • Gear Gigant X can get the Cyber Dragon variants out to your hand faster through its effect. When sent to the Graveyard, it can add to the machine-type Fusion Material for the Chimeratech boss monsters.
  • Herald of the Abyss can potentially send any monsters that pose as threats to the Graveyard, depending on what Type and Attribute they call, and completely block them from activating any effects.
  • At the risk of skipping your next Draw Phase, Offering of the Doomed can destroy a monster on the field.
  • Book of Moon can flip an enemy monster face-down on either turn. This is especially powerful if you control a Cyber End Dragon during the Battle Phase, considering the Fusion monster can inflict piercing battle damage.
  • Fiendish Chain can stop any monster from activating their effects and attacking, serving as a surprise form of control.

How to Play Cyber Dragons

Main Combo

Fusion Gate.png

1. Normal Summon Cyber Dragon Core from your hand to Special Summon Cyber Dragon Vier.
2. With the effect of Cyber Dragon Core, add either Cybernetic Fusion Support or Fusion Gate to your hand.
3. Activate both Cybernetic Fusion Support and Fusion Gate.
4. Use the two monsters on your field to Fusion Summon Chimeratech Rampage Dragon.
5. With the effect of Chimeratech Rampage Dragon, send any Cyber Dragons you do not need to the Graveyard.
6. Activate your skill to play two Proto-Cyber Dragons and use them to Fusion Summon another Chimeratech Rampage Dragon
7. Send more Cyber Dragons to the Graveyard with the effect of Chimeratech Rampage Dragon.
8. Fusion Summon Cyber End Dragon by banishing the needed Cyber Dragons in your Graveyard.
9. Conduct your Battle Phase. If all goes right, you can take down your opponent in a single turn.

Counters for Cyber Dragons

  • Contains very few monsters. There's a focus on Spell Cards as the goal of the deck is to bring out boss monsters like Cyber End Dragon and either Chimeratech monster.
  • The Deck is not always consistent. The sheer number of Spell Cards in the deck mean a possibility that you can go without a monster for a few turns.
  • Requires several Fusion Monsters. Any hindrance on Fusion Summons--and Special Summons in general-- can completely nullify any strength the deck had.

Block their Extra Deck

Cyber Dragon Decks rely on their many Fusion Monsters for high damage output. By preventing them from accessing their Extra Deck, they are unable to inflict any significant damage to you.

Negate their Spells and Traps

By negating their Spell and Trap Cards, not only are you preventing them from Fusion Summoning their powerful monsters, you are also protecting yourself from the card destroying effects of the Spells and Traps that usually accompany Cyber Dragon Decks.
