  • Decent chance to OTK your opponent.

Deck Concept

Thunder Dragons rely on being discarded or banished to activate their effects. You can use these cards to search for necessary cards in the Deck or Special Summon cards to the field. When used properly, the effects allow you to perform certain combos that give you consecutive advantages in the Duel.

How to Play Thunder Dragons

Main Combo

Thunder Dragondark.png

1. Discard Thunder Dragondark to add another Thunder Dragondark to your hand.
2. Normal Summon Aloof Lupine to banish a Thunder Dragonroar and Thunder Dragondark.
3. Use the effects of the two banished monsters to Special Summon Thunder Dragonroar and add Thunder Dragonhawk to your hand.
4. If Thunder Dragonhawk is already in your hand, add Thunder Dragonduo instead
5. Discard Thunder Dragonhawk to Special Summon your banished Thunder Dragonroar.
6. Xyz Summon Constellar Ptolemy M7 using your two Thunder Dragonroars.
7. If Thunder Dragonduo is in your hand, Special Summon it by banishing the two monsters in your Graveyard.
8. Conduct your Battle Phase. If all goes right, you can take down your opponent in a single turn.

Counters for Thunder Dragons

Weaknesses

  • Thunder Dragons cannot use their effects while used as Xyz Material.
  • Vulnerable to effect negating cards.

Block Thunder Dragon Effects

Because Thunder Dragons rely on being banished and sent to the Graveyard, any card effect that prevents this can incapacitate a Thunder Dragons Deck. Effects that prevent a player from Special Summoning monsters also hinder Thunder Dragons.

Use Continuous Trap or Spell Cards

A single Continuous Trap or Spell Card that prevents a player from activating certain effects can completely seal Thunder Dragons Decks and make any combos impossible to attain.
