ALICE Fiction- Kenshin Icon Kenshin Benkei’s Active Skill makes herself the target of enemy attacks and increases her Phys. Def. stat. Combining this with Kenshin’s ability to boost Phys. Def. and reduce incoming damage, Benkei becomes an iron wall that’s ready to block any attack.
ALICE Fiction- Asclepius Icon Asclepius While Benkei can make herself a target and boost her own Phys. Def., she still takes a lot of damage. This is where Asclepius comes in, providing healing and debuff removal for Benkei, keeping her healthy.
ALICE Fiction- Scipio Icon Scipio Scipio has a skill that can create a barrier for 3 allies, and one that reduces damage to 2 allies. This makes Benkei’s defenses stronger and able take more damage. Scipio being a Light-type triggers both her and Benkei’s Passive Skills, increasing Phys. Def. and Spec. Def of x4 allies.

Benkei Profile and Backstory

Bond Level Stories

Story
1 A warrior monk of the late Heian Period.
He served Minamoto no Yoshitsune, and the story of how he met the man on the Gojo Bridge, and how Benkei died standing while protecting his lord are particularly famous stories of his life.
2 Not much is known about Benkei aside from his service to Yoshitsune. Many famous anecdotes of Benkei's life were actually based on tales told of him after his death.
In the Gikeiki, he is claimed to be of Kumano Betto lineage, and his childhood name is Oniwaka. Legend says he remained in his mother's womb for eighteen months, and by the time he was born, he was already two or three years old. He joined the monks of Mt. Hiei, but was driven out for his love of martial arts and penchant for fighting.
He then took the name of Benkei Musashibo and wandered Kyoto with a goal of taking away one thousand blades from samurai he dueled. It was only after he had collected 999 blades that he met his future lord Yoshitsune (then Ushiwakamaru) atop the Gojo bridge. The young warrior challenged Benkei into a fight and defeated him. Benkei sensed that his defeat may have been preordained from a previous life, and from then on swore to serve Yoshitsune.
Benkei's loyalty was unshakable. He fought tirelessly at Yoshitsune's side during the Genpei War, and even when Yoshitsune had lost Kyoto to Minamoto no Yoritomo, Benkei stood and protected his lord to his last breath. It is said that he died standing up while fending off Yoshitsune's pursuers. The story of the "Standing Death of Benkei" is still told to this day.
